Two- and three-year-olds learn through movement, music, watching, repeating, playing and exploring.
Our 30-minute classes are designed around exactly that.
Young dancers begin developing basic coordination, musicality and dance foundations while learning what it feels like to follow a teacher, move with a group and become comfortable in the studio.
No previous experience is needed.
And nobody expects a two-year-old to arrive already knowing how to be a dancer.
Classes may introduce elements of ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, creative movement and imaginative play depending on the class.
Teachers use music, simple choreography, repetition and age-appropriate activities to keep young dancers engaged while they develop:

Need shoes or dancewear? Act One is right next door at 530 Victoria Ave, Suite G. Visit https://act-one.ca or email info@act-one.ca.
Parents and caregivers can remain nearby and watch class from the lobby using our studio viewing system.
Young children sometimes need time to get comfortable with a new room, teacher and routine. That is normal. We work with families to help the first few classes feel positive and manageable. If your child has sensory, communication, mobility, learning or other support needs that would be helpful for us to know, please email before class so we can talk through what will help.
Fall classes participate in Ascension’s Holiday Film. Dancers learn simple choreography during their regular classes and take part in filming near the end of the semester.
The finished film becomes a special December experience for dancers and families.
The winter/spring semester works toward our live Spring Recital.
The semesters are separate registrations.
Short sessions and drop-in opportunities are also part of the current 2026–27 class lineup when listed in registration.
These can be a good option for families who want a shorter introduction to the studio or a single-class experience.
